Da quando siamo arrivati a Roma, iltempo è stato piu’ fresco del previsto,solo una decina di giorni caldi,ma noi nonostante il tempo variabile,e grazie alla copertura della piscina, siamo sempre riusciti a nuotare, in quanto la mantiente bella calda,e ve la consiglio!!Settimana prossima piu’ impegnata….
Since we arrived,the weather has not been, normal.It has been quite fresh,but we have been swimming normally, since the pool temperature is hot thanks to the night cover.to try!!
Essendo a Roma non potevo,non farvi conoscere, qualche parte della città.Ancora, in via del Corso non ci sono stata,(questa visita)ma ve ne parlo.Via del Corso,è una strada,nel centro storico di Roma, comunemente chimato *il corso”.La strada,collega Piazza del Popolo Piazza Venezia,nelle vicinanze con via Flaminia, e collega la parte nord della città La via, ha tracce storiche, sin dal medio evo,Oltre ai noti negozi,la via è anche famosa,per i suoi vari monumenti,e chiese di cui vi parlero’ in seguito
The Via del Corso (ancient Via Lata, the urban stretch of Via Flaminia), commonly known as the Corso, is a main street in the historical centre of Rome. It is remarkable for being absolutely straight in an area characterized by narrow meandering alleys and small piazzas. Considered a wide street in ancient times, today the Corso is approximately 10 metres wide, and it only has room for two lanes of traffic and two narrow sidewalks. The northern portion of the street is a pedestrian area. The length of the street is roughly 1.5 kilometres.
Cari tutti, il mese di maggio è stato senza dubbio uno dei mesi più ricchi di uscite e di ‘grandi’ film, visto anche il ricco cartellone presentato quest’anno dal Festival di Cannes. Gran parte del mese è stato monopolizzato dall’attesissimo Il Grande Gatsby di Baz Luhrmann che ha convinto molti ma non tutti (me compresa), ma anche il cinema italiano ha avuto il suo spazio grazie al successo di critica e pubblico ottenuto dell’ultimo film di Paolo Sorrentino La Grande Bellezza, un buon film nello stile tipico del regista partenopeo ma forse eccessivamente carico di spunti. Intanto, mentre aspettiamo di vedere le migliori pellicole di Cannes grazie alla rassegna Le vie del Cinema da Cannes a Roma (un’iniziativa da non perdere per gli amanti del buon cinema d’autore), freme l’attesa per la prossima uscita ‘fumettosa’, quella di Man of Steel, attesissimo da tutti i fan del tanto amato supereroe.

La pittura è estremamente liberatoria e la consiglio a chi soffre d’ansia o ha difficoltà a canalizzare le proprie energie: infatti è un ottimo esercizio di concentrazione, auto-disciplina e può essere considerata, secondo me, addirittura una forma di meditazione! Consiglio ai principianti di cominciare con gli acquerelli: sono facili, economici e di grande effetto suggestivo!
Painting is one of my favourite hobbies-I produce more informal paintings,but especcially in this period,i amtrying to become more tecnical,and expring more types of painting.here you can see,some of my more abstract paintings,which rappresent,even though I should not tell you!the horse,my preffered subject.
painting is very releasing,relaxing, and i suggest it, for people,who are very anxious,stressed,and don’t know how to ponderate their energy.I’ts a very good way to concentrate,and for me, its also meditation!I suggest, for those who want to start to use some echeap watecolors, with a very nice effect!

It is now two months since we moved from Geneva to Dublin, so probably time to share some initial thoughts with you all. Otherwise I’ll get into a lot of trouble from Caterina!
The location is on the north-westerly periphery of Europe and the climate reflects this Atlantic setting, with blustery winds causing constant changes between pleasant sunshine and cool cloud cover. The city itself is bustling, and attractive with its typical red-brick Georgian architecture livened up by the multi-coloured doors that adorn most buildings.
The Irish good nature and sense of humour is a great defense mechanism to help the population cope with the multiple invasions from Vikings, Normans and Brits, as well as with the cold & humid climate and famines that have plagued the country in prior centuries. You have to see the funny side of things I guess, and forget about all that with a pint of Guinness, music and chat-chat in one of the innumerable pubs that are dotted around the city.
Much like Italy, in recent years the country has switched from people leaving to seek their fortune abroad (often the US) to a land of immigration, particularly from Eastern Europe. This was driven by a big boom in the construction industry that was experienced in the decade of the “Celtic Tiger” which was a period of boom and prosperity which came crashing down in around 2007. More recently, this immigration has been replaced by a more skilled workforce coming to join the myriad multinationals, which have located their European HQs here, attracted by the favourable taxation rates.
All in all it makes for a great mix – the locals are very welcoming and the foreigners have been rapidly taking to the local traditions and way of life. The friendliness is contagious, and is noticeable at all ages right from Valentine’s school-friends who have also made her feel very welcome.
So early days but so far so good!
Sono gia’ due mesi da quando ci siamo trasferti a Dublino, quindi e’ l’ora di condividere con voi qualche prima impressione. Senno Caterina si arrabbia e saranno guai!
Siamo nella periferia nord-ovest dell’Europa, e il clima e tipicamente oceanico con forti venti. Il risultato e’ un nascondino costante tra il sole e le nuvole. La citta e’ piena di vita e carina, con casette di mattoni rossi tipiche di questa parte del mondo, adornate di porte dipinte di tutti i colori.
Le passate invasioni e le famine, aggiunte a questo clima lunatico, hanno portato gli Irlandesi a sviluppare un ottimo senso dell’umorismo e una capacita a vedere il lato positive delle cose, spesso in un piccolo pub con un bel fuoco nel camino, una birrona in mano e amici che suonano musiche tipiche.
Come in Italia, c’e stato una inversione negli ultime anni da un paese di emigranti a un paese con molti immigrati, in particolare dall’europa dell’est. Gli anni della “tigre celtica” (un decennio di rapido sviluppo commerciale ed economico che si e’ arrestato bruscamente nel 2007) ha attratto molte persone a cercare fortuna nel settore dell’edilizia. Piu recentemente la crisi immobiliare e il continuo afflusso di grandi gruppi internazionali che hanno scelto l’Irlanda come base Europea hanno cominciato ad attirare un nuovo profile di immigrazione verso il mondo high tech.
Il risultato e un ottimo mix tra “vecchi” irlandesi che accettano di buon grado i “nuovi”, che si abituano ed adeguano rapidamente agli usi e costume del luogo. Questa amicizia ed apertura di spirito e contagiosa e presente nella gente fin da piccoli, per esempio nei compagni di classe di Valentina che l’hanno fatta sentire subito a suo agio.

Si trova nel centro di Roma,sul fiume Tevere, collega il piazzale cardinal Consalvi e Piazzale Pontemilvivio,nel quartiere Flaminio.Un tempo,da qui inizio’ la antica città di Roma, e serve come passaggio da andare al nord.Lungo il percorso, si trovano la via Cassia e Flaminia.
Una prima traccia de ponte, ci fu’ nel 207 ac, durante la guerra Punica.Dai Romani,chiamato “Ponte Mollo”
