Ingredienti: Olio e.v.o 1/2 cipolla di Tropea 3 melanzane viola, medie Due manciate di pomodorini maturi. 1 manciata di capperi sotto sale.
Rosolare la cipolla a fettine. Unire le melanzane tagliate a cubetti e far cuocere a fuoco vivo. Aggiungere i pomodorini tagliati a metà e i capperi sciacquati dal sale. Far cuocere a fuoco vivace, poi coprire col coperchio e cuocere mezz’ora. Condire la pasta e spolverare con parmigiano a piacere
Ingredients:
Extra virgin olive oil
1/2 Tropea onion
3 medium purple eggplants
Two handfuls of ripe cherry tomatoes.
1 handful of salted capers.
Brown the sliced onion.
Add the aubergines cut into cubes and cook over high heat.
Add the cherry tomatoes cut in half and the capers rinsed with salt.
Cook over high heat, then cover with the lid and cook for half an hour.
Season the pasta and sprinkle with Parmesan to taste
Questo 2020 di certo non c’è lo scorderemo tanto in fretta e soprattutto agosto non è stato un mese qualunque da molti punti di vista! Comunque abbiamo avuto lo stesso il piacere, di ospitare la nostra cara Zia Nella, che è rimasta con noi per tutto il mese. Come sapete bene, sono stata ricoverata quasi un mese alla clinica Villa Margherita perché sono stata seriamente operata-
Dato le norme molto severe per il Covid, (ho dovuto fare anche il tampone) i visitatori dovevano darsi il turno per entrare in camera (non si poteva stare più di 2 in camera), quindi il più delle volte durante i pomeriggi, zia stava con me, e mamma rientrava la sera e stava con me di notte, e la mattina-.Gaya e Caterina mi sono venute a trovare e le ringrazio. Con altre amiche e parenti siamo stati sempre in contatto via telefono e videochats!
sono rientrata a casa il 24agosto e zia è partita il 3 settembre. Devo dire che i dottori e la maggior parte di infermieri\infermiere sono stati molto professionali e …simpatici! Un grazie anche per loro!Anche un ringraziamento ai genitori !!
Casper è stato molto triste durante la mia assenza, ma zia ha supplito molto bene,e sta recuperando il tempo perso.
Adesso ho ripreso a fare la maggioranza dei movimenti, e mi posso muovere di più e posso, un po’ alla volta, finalmente riprendere sole!! Ancora non riesco a nuotare però per via della ferita del tallone..speriamo presto..

This 2020 won’t be forgotten in a hurry- This August,in spite of Covid restrictions, we had the pleasure to have zia Nella with us once again- As you know I was hospitalised during august, for a serious operation.
Due to the various strict hospital rules, only one max 2 people were allowed into the room-During the day,(in the afternoons) since we couldn’t stay all in the same room, mom and dad often went home while zia stayed with me, and mom came back for the night,and mornings – During this period,Gaya and Caterina came to visit , and it was nice to see them, thanks a lot. With other friends and relatives I kept in touch by phone or video chats. I must also say that doctors and nurses in hospital were very professional and kind, and I thank them too.Of course I would like to thanks also mum and dad I came back home the 24 th of August and zia left on the 3rd of September.
Casper had been very down during this period, but I was checking on him constantly via Zia Nella.
I have now recuperated most movements, but still can’t swim for the heel wound: hopefully soon!! hopefully soon we can restart ‘normal life ‘With pool, friends, outings etc-I will keep you updated
Sono sicuro che non c’è bisogno di menzionare quanto questo anno sia …. particolare in molti modi. Tuttavia, avevamo programmato a gennaio / febbraio una vacanza estiva in Grecia – e poiché durante la crisi sanitaria che é esplosa (e continua ancora!) la Grecia sembrava rimanere relativamente indenne e noi, avendo deciso di affittare ville appartate in ogni caso, siamo andati avanti come previsto e siamo contenti di averlo fatto!
Abbiamo trascorso due settimane in due diverse isole delle Cicladi: Amorgos e Paros.
Amorgos è stato la prima tappa. È la più remota delle isole e il viaggio in traghetto di 7 ore per arrivarci l’ha resa molto “autentica” e praticamente indenne dal turismo di massa. Abbiamo visitato i graziosi villaggi con casette bianche e mulini a vento sulle colline, percorso alcuni dei sentieri popolati principalmente da capre, punteggiati da occasionali chiesette, e ci siamo goduti il mare pulito e le spiagge. È l’isola dove Jacques Costeau ha girato “Il Grande Blu” ed è anche per questo che Valentine ha provato le immersioni subacquee per la prima volta, inizialmente con un corso introduttivo e poi in un’immersione completa a 13 metri sotto la superficie con papà e un istruttore. E sicuramente rimasta affascinata e si sta informando su tutte le prossime certificazioni che potrebbe ottenere!
Da Amorgos siamo andati a Paros, che ci ha fornito un bel contrasto: è stata la prima delle isole ad avere un aeroporto ed è molto più vicina ad Atene, quindi il turismo è molto più sviluppato e alcune delle città – specialmente Naoussa nel nord dell’isola – hanno tanti ristoranti e negozi per soddisfare i turisti pur mantenendo il fascino tradizionale. Ancora due settimane trascorse in relax, godendosi il mare, i panorami, la piscina, il cibo. Abbiamo fatto un giro in barca con la famiglia verso alcuni luoghi spettacolari come “la laguna blu” e “la baia dei pirati”, e Tony è scappato per un paio di giri in bicicletta intorno alle isole.
Il ritorno verso scuola ed ufficio é andato bene senza problemi, con una breve tappa ad Atene. Alla prossima!
I am sure there is no need to mention what a…. particular year this has been in many ways. Still, we had planned in Jan/Feb for a summer holiday in Greece – and as through the crisis that follows (and still goes on!) Greece seemed to remain relatively unscathed and we as we had decided to rent secluded villas in any case, we went ahead as planned, and are glad we did! We had two weeks in two different islands in the Cyclades – Amorgos and Paros. Amorgos was first. It is the most remote of the islands and the 7 hour ferry trip to get there has left it very “authentic” and pretty much untouched by mass tourism. We visited the pretty whitewashed villages, hiked some of the trails mainly populated by goats, dotted by the occasional chapel, and enjoyed the pristine sea and beaches. It is the island where Jacques Costeau filmed “The Big Blue” and fittingly it is also where Valentine tried out scuba diving for the first time, initially with an introductory course and then in a full-on dive 13m below the surface with dad and an instructor. Suffice it to say she was enthralled and is asking about all the next certifications she could get! Paros was next and quite a contrast – it was the first one of the islands to have an airport and is much closer to the mainland, so tourism is much more developed and some of the towns – especially Naoussa in the north of the island – have developed significantly to cater for visitors while still retaining the traditional charm. Again, two weeks spent relaxing, enjoying the sea, the views, the pool , the food. We took a family boat ride to some spectacular spots such as “the blue lagoon” and “the pirate cove”, and Tony escaped for a couple of bike rides at various points. The return was fortunately pretty smooth, with a short stop in Athens before flying back to Geneva to go back to work and school!
